AN ANNUAL Art Exhibition will be opening its doors to the public this Saturday (March 12).
Open 27, which runs from Friday (March 12) until May 8th at Leicester’s New Walk Museum and Art Gallery, will showcase paintings, prints, drawings, photographs and sculptures by local artists.
The Open, now in its 27th year, welcomes work from artists living or working in Leicester, Leicestershire, Rutland, Derbyshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire or Northamptonshire.
All work featured at the Open will be available for sale – giving members of the public the opportunity to acquire original work at an affordable price.
Assistant city mayor for culture, leisure and sport Cllr Piara Singh Clair said: “The Leicester Open provides a wonderful opportunity for people to peruse the work of talented local artists.
“It is also a great chance to purchase a unique piece of work, whilst supporting local artists.”
This year’s sponsors include Leicester Print Workshop, LCB Depot, De Montfort Hall, Art House, Wilson Browne Solicitors, Phoenix, Soft Touch Arts, City of Leicester Museums’ Trust and The Spark Arts for Children.
People can visit the exhibition during museum opening times – from 10am until 5pm Monday to Saturday and 11am until 5pm on Sundays.
