Business Support

Friars Mill is managed by East Midlands Chamber (Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire). You’ll find Chamber, Business Gateway and Local Enterprise Partnership staff on site.

Ask us how we can help you reduce costs, find, train and retain the best people. Drop in to discuss overseas business expansion, taking on an intern or to sound out a business development idea. In short, use our resources for non-core activities so you can focus on what you do best.

Security Matters

In addition to practical intercom facilities to manage entry and exit of visitors, when you move in, we’ll give you enough entry fobs for each member of your team. Your fobs provide more than access to our premises. They provide you with 24 hour security for your space, your team and all of your fellow tenants.

The Great Outdoors

Hi-tech city-working isn’t usually associated with a waterside location that may generate a calming effect, or leafy green spaces that enable the opportunity to see nature at close quarters. But that’s exactly what Friars Mill offers.

The extensive use of glass allows light to flood your workspace, and re-glazed original waterside windows frame the ever-changing natural landscape will undoubtedly inspire you while you work.

Visitors and employees will be able to take advantage of an outdoor space too - be it sitting on the patio outside the Boiler House with a coffee or enjoying the communal spaces at breaks.

City of culture

Friars Mill is a ten-minute stroll from Leicester’s thriving city centre. From the banks and big name stores you’d expect to the quirky independents you’ll discover in St Martins Square, it’s easy to fit in a lunchtime shopping spree.

Then there are many options for socialising. From the familiar chain restaurants of High Cross via the ethnically diverse eateries of Leicester’s Golden Mile to the thriving bars and cafes around Curve theatre and Phoenix independent cinema in the city’s Cultural Quarter.

Location, Location

A Friars Mill location makes public transport even more convenient for staff and visitors alike.

The centre is an easy 20 minute walk from Leicester Railway Station with frequent services to London (1hr 10min), Nottingham (30 min), Birmingham (56 min).

Friars Mill supports Leicester City Council’s commitment to sustainable transport, so we’ve installed ample cycle parking as well as shower, changing and locker facilities for anyone who cycles (or runs) to work. You can even arrive by boat, using one of our moorings.

On a main artery into the city, Friars Mill is easily accessible from London, the West Midlands and the North. We’re just four miles from J21 of the M1 and M69, and a comfortable half hour by road from East Midlands Airport.

Our 52 parking spaces are allocated according the size of space you lease. Reserve your space(s) for the convenience of visitors or reward key team members with their own spot.
